Looking for the Dragon-Forged Core? Go to the recipe, ingredient locations and crafting steps. It is made at the floor-90 Dragon Forge after The Dragonsworn Tablet, with Blacksmithing 30.
Before entering: choose the exact route
Start at the mine entrance only after naming one target: the next elevator floor, one named seal offering, or one upgrade material. Open the active quest before entering and copy its item names into your list. On PC, move with your current bindings and use the on-screen tool or interaction command; the route is written by visible landmarks and quest names so it remains usable after rebinding.
Prerequisites
- The target floor must already be reachable from your save’s current story progress.
- Seal runs require the active named quest and every listed item, not near matches or substitute materials.
- Tool-upgrade runs require the mine area and crafting level shown in the tool table below.
- Name targetPick one seal, floor range, or material gap.
- Enter preparedCarry the stated tools, recovery, and empty bag space.
- Follow routeUse the ladder direction and take only target resources.
- ExitLeave when the goal or turnaround rule is met.
Prepare before entering
- Pick one objective: the next elevator floor, one seal offering, or one upgrade material.
- Empty at least six bag slots and leave unrelated tools at home.
- Carry food you can eat immediately; turn back when the food is gone or the target is complete.
- Put quest offerings in a separate chest after the run so they are not sold or crafted.
- Update the game before diagnosing elevator problems; v1.0.3 includes elevator crash fixes.
Use these tables to match the trip to the ore band and pickaxe tier. The filters plan a route; they do not promise that every node appears in every room.
This is the complete ores and materials catalogue: 92 entries.

Upper Mines resource targets
On floors 1–19, check both ore-bearing nodes and the larger matching rocks. Their Perfect artifact chances differ. Upper Mines revision 62985 gives the following rates; the second percentage applies with Perfect Pick enabled.
| Target | Ordinary resource | Perfect artifact chance without / with Perfect Pick |
|---|---|---|
| Copper node | Copper Ore | Perfect Copper Ore · 1% / 2% |
| Copper rock | 1–3 Copper Ore | Perfect Copper Ore · 1% / 5% |
| Ruby node | Ruby | Perfect Ruby · 5% / 6% |
| Ruby rock | 2–3 Ruby | Perfect Ruby · 5% / 10% |
For a missing Perfect Ruby, the larger ruby rock has the higher listed chance when Perfect Pick is active. These are chances per target, not a promise that a particular floor contains one. Keep an ordinary Ruby for the Water Seal; a Perfect Ruby belongs to the artifact collection and is not a substitute.
Breakable containers offer a separate pool. Use this table to decide whether to clear a room after collecting its ore.
| Container | Listed drops |
|---|---|
| Barrel | Wood 25%; Glass 10% |
| Crate | Wood, with no percentage stated; Glass 5% |
| Box | Wood 25%; Glass 5%; Upper Mines Mushroom 1% |
The 1% box drop is an extra way to find the mushroom, not a reason to ignore the forage growing on the floor. The source does not establish whether these container rewards are mutually exclusive, so do not add their percentages into a combined success rate.
Resource chances beyond the first seal
The pairs below mean without / with Perfect Pick for the corresponding Perfect artifact. A missing source value is left unknown rather than copied from another metal.
Tide Caverns · 21–39
| Target | Ordinary resource | Perfect artifact chance |
|---|---|---|
| Iron node | 1–2 Iron Ore | Not listed |
| Iron rock | 2–3 Iron Ore | 1% / 5% |
| Sapphire node | Sapphire | 5% / 6% |
| Sapphire rock | 1–2 Sapphire | 5% / 10% |
Iron Hound is associated with a separate 10% Iron Ore roll in the node row. That row does not supply a Perfect Iron Ore chance; use the listed iron-rock value for that artifact. Barrels list Wood 25% and Glass 10%; crates list Wood without a percentage and Glass 5%. Breakable coral lists Coral 10%.
Deep Earth · 41–59
| Target | Ordinary resource | Perfect artifact chance |
|---|---|---|
| Silver node | 1–2 Silver Ore | 1% / 2% |
| Silver rock | 2–3 Silver Ore | 1% / 5% |
| Emerald node | Emerald | 5% / 6% |
| Emerald rock | 1–2 Emerald | 5% / 10% |
Silver Seeker is associated with a separate 10% Silver Ore roll on nodes. Barrels list Wood 25% and Glass 10%; crates list Wood without a percentage and Glass 5%. Both large and small breakable crystals list Crystal 10%.
Lava Caves · 61–79
| Target | Ordinary resource | Perfect artifact chance |
|---|---|---|
| Gold node | 1–2 Gold Ore | 1% / 2% |
| Gold rock | 2–3 Gold Ore | 1% / 5% |
| Diamond node | Diamond | 5% / 6% |
| Diamond rock | 1–2 Diamond | 5% / 10% |
Good as Gold is associated with a separate 10% Gold Ore roll on nodes. Barrels list Wood 25% and Glass 10%; crates list Wood without a percentage and Glass 5%. Both large and small breakable obsidian formations list Obsidian 10%.
Late-game mineral and debris pools
Ancient Ruins · 81–99
| Target | Ordinary resource | Perfect artifact chance |
|---|---|---|
| Mistril node | 1–2 Mistril Ore | 1% / 2% |
| Mistril rock | 2–3 Mistril Ore | 1% / 5% |
| Pink Diamond node | 1–2 Pink Diamond | 5% / 6% |
| Pink Diamond rock | 2–3 Pink Diamond | 5% / 10% |
Mistril Mastery is associated with a separate 10% Mistril Ore roll on nodes. Pottery lists Wood 75%, Glass 7%, Hard Wood 1%, Refined Stone 1% and Shards 1%. Both large and small Voidite formations list Voidite 10%. These individual rates do not establish mutually exclusive rewards.
Cross lava and light the Ancient Ruins
In the Lava Caves, use a Watering Can on the lava to make solid stepping tiles; swimming does not cross it. The Rain spell is another supported option. Keep the can on your hotbar before entering this biome.
In the Ancient Ruins, each equipped Mistril or Dragonsworn armor piece increases your small light radius. The Light spell illuminates floors for five real-world minutes, continuing across floor changes. Some floors also contain a crystal-like light that activates when struck with a sword. Look for it before spending more mana. Light is a navigation aid, not a verified guarantee that Living Gryphon Statues cannot spawn nearby.
Ancient Ruins revision 63318, Lava Caves revision 63317, Living Gryphon Statue revision 63328.
Open a Ritual Chamber's large urn
Ritual artifacts come from the large urn in a Ritual Chamber. The ordinary dig spots elsewhere on a mine floor do not provide this set.
- Reach Mining level 45, visit the Dragon Statue in the Mines and spend 155 Essence on Lost to History. Keep the perk enabled before exploring. These requirements are listed in the Mining skill table.
- Descend through an unlocked biome beyond the Upper Mines and look for the room with a single large urn in its centre. Ritual Chambers do not spawn in the Upper Mines, and you can encounter at most one per in-game day. After finding one, save the next search for another day. Chamber layout and limits.
- Approach the urn and interact with it to collect its contents. Check the item name after collecting; the urn can also give Dragon Cleric cosmetics, so a visit does not guarantee a missing artifact.
- Keep each first missing artifact for the Museum's Ritual set. Confirm its donation slot fills before selling or replicating spare copies.
The five possible Ritual artifacts are Ritual Beads, Ritual Chalice, Ritual Incense Burner, Ritual Scepter and Ritual Tablet. Rewards are random. Five visits do not guarantee all five, and the urn does not let you choose the next item.
If no chamber appears, check that Lost to History is enabled, that you have left the Upper Mines and that you have not already found today's chamber. Meeting those conditions gives it a chance to appear; it does not guarantee one on the next floor.
Monsters and combat drops
Use the area filter before a material run. The list covers 34 active variants across 13 families, with source HP, attack patterns and practical counters where available. Ancient Ruins entries stay hidden until you reveal spoilers.
Two source-hidden Clods are excluded; the Mini Orange Sapling is included. Missing source numbers or tactics remain explicitly unknown. Read the combat steps below or jump to Mimic feeding.

Survive a bad fight and understand fainting
If health reaches zero in the Mines, you wake at the Clinic and the day ends immediately. You keep your inventory and Tesserae. The lost time still matters for today's errands, so eat before the next hit can finish you rather than treating fainting as a free return trip.
| What you need | Action |
|---|---|
| Recover missing health | Consume a food or drink with health recovery, or drink from a Rejuvenating Fountain when you find one. |
| Take less damage | Equip armor for its Defense. You start with cloth armor; buy upgrades at the Blacksmith or craft them. Cosmetic appearance alone does not equip protection. |
| Survive an unexpected first hit | Unlock and enable Guardian's Shield to reflect the first hit each day. Guardian's Shield II can also reflect random later hits; it is not protection against every attack. |
| Increase the health ceiling | Use Heart Crystals. A larger maximum does not replace healing missing health. |
| Get a usable sword | Use the story's Worn Sword, buy a replacement at the General Store, or craft a weapon. Well Armed adds equipment finds in the Mines; Mimic trades are another possible source. |
Defeating monsters raises Combat skill. For upgrade levels, Essence costs and each perk's full effect, select Combat in the skill catalogue. This section follows Combat revision 61323; its introductory Early Access label is not evidence that later game features are unavailable.
Targeted Lava Cat response
In the Lava Caves, a Lava Cat charges when you get close. Keep a retreat lane; if it blocks the target, use a Watering Can to petrify it, then switch to a Sword. Its listed drops include Obsidian, so the fight can serve a material goal. The Lava Cat record supports these encounter mechanics and the drop; NPC Studio v1.0.4 patch notes are cited only for the current patch branch used when troubleshooting a mine run.
Mimic: trade instead of opening
- Stop before interacting with the suspicious chest. Opening or hitting it triggers a retaliatory shockwave and makes it disappear.
- Select a cheap, eligible item and throw it nearby with G on default PC controls. Do not sacrifice a valuable stack: one item is enough, and price does not improve the reward.
- Wait for it to eat and spit out a reward. It consumes one item from a stack and returns the remainder.
- Collect the reward after it disappears. Gift Exchange grants a second item; Reclaimer, Dungeon Delicacies and Well Armed expand the furniture, food and equipment pools respectively.
Items a Mimic will refuse
The pinned source lists all of these exclusions. If the thrown item belongs to one of them, switch items; opening the chest is not the next feeding step.
| Excluded group | Includes |
|---|---|
| Gear | Weapons and tools |
| Unlocks | Building blueprints and recipe scrolls |
| Appearance | Player cosmetics, animal accessories and pet cosmetics |
| Unopened finds | Unidentified Artifacts and Treasure Boxes |
| Money and storage upgrades | Purse of Tesserae, Basic Pouch and Bag Upgrade |
| Special items | Essence Stones, Date Inspiration Items, Song Crystals and Clod Bombs |
What feeding can return
The normal reward begins with gems from the current biome. Reclaimer adds that biome's furniture, Dungeon Delicacies adds cooked dishes, and Well Armed adds armor/weapons. Gift Exchange changes one reward item to two. Feeding also returns 3t. The ordinary pool excludes ore, artifacts, recipes and cosmetics; a more expensive offering does not improve it.
Two separate one-time cosmetic rolls are exceptions: before obtaining the Mimic Hat, feeding has a 5% chance to add it; with Friend-Shaped unlocked and the Mimic Pet Skin still locked, that skin also has a 5% chance. Both can appear on the same feeding. Neither is guaranteed, and the skin roll does not apply without its perk.
These exclusions and reward conditions follow Mimic revision 62552. Find the perk costs in the skill catalogue; feeding is not a way to duplicate ore or request a particular reward.
Completion check and common combat mistakes
- Mushroom takes no damage: it is hidden. Turn away to lure it out, then turn and strike as it inflates. Jump Attack needs its perk unlocked.
- Clod reflection misses: Green Clod launches its body, not a stone; strike that body in flight. Silver Clod can throw a bomb that the bug net can catch.
- Still hurt after killing a red Clod: its death releases another radial burst. Step back after the final hit.
- Lava Cat will not stop: check that the watering can contains water and that you are targeting Lava Cat, not the different Void Cat.
- Combat is finished: check for Orange Sapling minis and lingering puddles before collecting drops. The end of one enemy's health bar is not always the end of the hazard.
HP and damage numbers are source values, not a promise of the damage your armor will take. Three source pages still lack a verified tactic: Void Cat, Rock Stack and Living Gryphon Statue; their entries say so rather than inventing weaknesses.
Crossing lava without spending mana
In the Lava Caves, lava cannot be crossed by swimming. Select a filled Watering Can and use it on the lava to form solid-rock tiles, then move onto the resulting path. Summon Rain is another option, but you do not need to spend mana if you have water.
Ancient Ruins lighting
Each piece of worn Mistril equipment or the special story equipment slightly increases your light radius. Wear the actual equipment, not just its cosmetic appearance. Sacred Light illuminates the floors for five real-world minutes and continues when you change floors; budget mana or use equipment when that timer expires.

Verified seal steps
| Gate | Direct action | Confirmed reward or unlock |
|---|---|---|
| Water Seal, floor 20 | Speak to Eiland, then offer 1 Stone Loach, 1 Upper Mines Mushroom, 1 Ruby, and 1 Lantern Moth. | Tide Caverns, 1 Heart Crystal, 20 Renown, and Summon Rain. |
| Find The Magic Key, after reaching floor 90 | Explore the northwest room, light the Dragon Forge, inspect the Library, offer 1 Temple Flower and 1 Marigold, grow the Seed of Balance, then use the key. | Floors 91–100 and Sacred Light. |
| Final Seal, floor 100 | After The Dragonsworn Tablet, forge and offer 1 each of Dragon-Forged Fang, Horn, Core, and Powder. | Northern Western Ruins access and Seridia relationship progression. |
Completion check
At the end of a progression run, use a visible result instead of assuming the target was met: the elevator now lists the new floor, the active quest advances after the exact offerings are accepted, or the next named mine area opens. For a material run, put the listed reserve in storage before selling anything. If the quest remains unchanged, return to its text and compare every item name and quantity before repeating the trip.
Do not pre-collect unverified gate requirements. Complete the current named quest first, then reserve the exact offering list before spending matching materials elsewhere.
Make the mine run count
- Set one target: a quest offering, a route floor, or a material stack.
- Keep open bag slots for that target and carry recovery items you can use now.
- Use the directional ladder cue added in 1.0 when progress is the target; detour only for the day’s list.
- Leave through an available exit or elevator when the list is complete. v1.0.3 includes elevator-related crash fixes, so keeping the game current is a sensible first troubleshooting step.
Choose the next guide
New to the route? Start with the first-season guide, then use the ore and tool upgrade guide for the right biome material. If health, space, or combat ends a run first, return to preparation and the combat sections above.

Floor 60: get the Sealing Scroll from Balor
- After reaching floor 60, complete The Fire Tablet by speaking to Juniper. The Sealing Scroll is a separate purchase quest, not a normal forage item.
- Wait for Balor to contact you for Procuring The Sealing Scroll, then meet him in his room at the Inn. Do not substitute speaking to him anywhere in town for this meeting.
- Put 10 Ruby, 10 Sapphire, 10 Emerald and 10 Silver Ingots into the payment chest beside Balor's Wagon. Then talk to Balor again; carrying the stacks is not enough.
- He makes the exchange that night and delivers the Sealing Scroll the next day. Check that you actually received it before returning to floor 60.
- For Breaking The Fire Seal, offer one each of Faceted Rock Gem, Rockroot, Emerald and Sealing Scroll at the seal. The scroll-payment materials and the seal offerings are two separate lists.
Upper Mines Mushroom: keep the first two
Search floors 1–19 in any season. Keep one for the floor-20 Water Seal and one first Museum donation; that donation unlocks Miner's Mushroom Stew, which also needs one Cave Mushroom. Only use later copies for cooking, gifts, woodcrafting, sale, or the Mines Forageables Crown Request.
Dragon-Forged Core recipe and where to get every ingredient
This section contains late-game story spoilers. Make one Core at the Dragon Forge on floor 90, after completing The Dragonsworn Tablet, with Blacksmithing 30; the base crafting time is 50 in-game minutes.
Unlock checklist
- Reach the Dragon Forge on floor 90 and light it during Find The Magic Key.
- Complete The Dragonsworn Tablet to unlock the recipe.
- Reach Blacksmithing level 30 before crafting.
- Bring the ingredients below and allow 50 in-game minutes for one core.
| Ingredient | Quantity | Where to get it |
|---|---|---|
| Monster Core | 5 | Defeat Enchanterns on floors 2–19 or 21–39. Flame Spirits in the Lava Caves and Ancient Ruins can also drop them; a kill does not guarantee a drop. |
| Mistril Ingot | 1 | Forge 10 Mistril Ore at an anvil; base requirement Blacksmithing 8, time 20 minutes. Balor also sells an ingot for 700t when stocked. |
| Pink Diamond | 1 | Mine Pink Diamond nodes in the Ancient Ruins, floors 81–99. Balor may stock one for 1,200t. Use a regular Pink Diamond, not the Perfect Pink Diamond artifact. |
| Ancient Firefly | 1 | Take your bug net to the Ancient Ruins, floors 81–99. Catch it in any season, weather or time of day. |
| Medium Essence Stone | 1 | At the Stone Refinery, spend 20 Stone and 50 Essence; base time 20 minutes. Mine treasure chests are another possible source. |
Keep the first core for the Final Seal. If the recipe is absent, check the tablet quest before gathering another batch of ingredients.
Make and deliver one Core
- Before leaving home, pack the five ingredient stacks, a pickaxe, weapon and bug net if you still need Ruins materials. Keep recovery food and space for the finished item.
- Go to floor 90 and enter the Dragon Forge room. During Find The Magic Key, this is the forge lit with Dragon's Breath; lighting it and unlocking the Core recipe are separate quest milestones.
- Stand at the lit forge and use Interact (default E / right-click on PC). Select Dragon-Forged Core, not Monster Core, and craft one after checking the five quantities and the displayed time.
- Confirm that Dragon-Forged Core is now in your inventory. Keep it for floor 100; the Final Seal also needs one Dragon-Forged Fang, Horn and Powder, so the Core alone will not open it.
If you have no Medium Essence Stone, finish the Stone Refinery unlock before making another ingredient run. The ore and tool guide covers preparing for the Ruins ore band.
Troubleshooting: If a mine run stalls
| Symptom | Check | Next action |
|---|---|---|
| No ladder progress | You are clearing side rooms without a route target. | Follow the directional ladder cue and ignore fights that do not block the target. |
| A seal rejects items | The named quest step or one exact item is missing. | Compare all four names and quantities in the active quest, then return with the complete set. |
| Water Seal item missing | The mushroom was spent or you searched too deep. | Search floors 1–19 in any season and reserve the next copy. |
| Dragon Forge recipe missing | The forge is lit, but The Dragonsworn Tablet is unfinished. | Finish that quest before checking level or ingredients. |
| Runs end too early | Bag space, recovery, or tool tier fails first. | Reduce the trip to one target and upgrade the matching tool. |
Use the Heart Crystal after a seal reward
A Heart Crystal raises maximum health by 20 when consumed; simply receiving it does not apply the increase. Select it in the toolbar and hold E or the right mouse button with default PC controls, then check the maximum health value. It cannot be sold, so do not treat the reward as shipping income.
